Kathy Gatenby

Tea Tree, Tasmania

I have a small acreage in Tea Tree, Tasmania, Australia and have long been a permaculture practitioner, having studied with one of it's instigators, Bill Mollison.

In recent years my focus has been centred around soil and soil health, which led me to Charles Dowding. Inspired by Charles,  my husband and I have totally transformed my garden to no-dig, with the inclusion of a glasshouse (almost finished), sheltering brick wall and a four-bay compost station. I'm very excited about this new direction for my garden, and have achieved good results in very short time, especially with my compost.

The photo was taken in late winter, so not a lot of plants to show at this stage, and the glasshouse is almost complete and will be ready to go by spring. I have many seedlings in the cold frame which will be transferred to the glasshouse, or into sheltered positions in the garden once the worst of the frosts has passed.

If you would like to get in touch, my email address is: kathy@kathygatenby.com
