Module tray starter pack
£31.26
Buy from Containerwise

These module trays of my own design are made of strong and durable recycled polypropylene.

They have wide holes at the bottom which enable plants to be pushed up easily and also improve drainage. The tapered cells require less compost and result in no waterlogging around the roots. The polypropylene creates smooth and solid cells that help plant rootballs slide upwards with little or no damage to the plant roots, and none to the tray.

The pack comprises 2 x CD15, 1 x CD30, 1 x CD60, 1 x Dib Popper

The cell size is the same in all three sized trays, the only variable is number of cells per tray.

Specifications: cell size 29.5mm / cell volume 21cm³ / drainage hole diameter 14mm

What can be sown in CD trays:

All vegetables and flowers, except for runner beans and broad beans, the largest seeds. It is possible to use them for broad beans, but seedlings then need transplanting when small because the roots quickly run out of space. For runner and broad beans, I use these 40L trays from Containerwise.
