No Dig Gardening Seminar with Charles Dowding and Krautgaart

Organic no dig gardening for home- and commercial vegetable growers

No dig gardening is the art of growing organic vegetables without working the soil. It is timesaving, less physical work and fewer weeds. To not disturb the soil – and this is fundamental – is to keep the soil in its natural structure, healthy and full of life. This is the basis for growing healthy plants, that don’t need any special treatments.

Krautgaart – which translates into ‘herbal garden’- is a small market garden CSA in Luxemburg, run full time by its three shareholders Epstein Max, Parries Jean-Marc and Petit Claude. Krautgaart was founded in 2015 with the goal of growing healthy vegetables for the local community. Always on the lookout for efficient growing techniques, the three shareholders were inspired by one of Charles Dowding’s no dig seminars in 2016. Since then, they have successfully incorporated the principles of no-dig into their market gardens and now supply 135 local households with epic vegetables throughout the growing season. Within three years, Max, J-M and Claude were able to set up a profitable market garden CSA, debt-free and independent of agricultural subsidies. Quote from Krautgaart: ‘No-dig is an essential tool if you want to start a successful market garden business without burning out.’
